Benitec Biopharma switches auditor to Ernst & Young from Baker Tilly

Benitec Biopharma replaced Baker Tilly with Ernst & Young as auditor for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. Baker Tilly’s fiscal 2026 and 2025 audit opinions were unqualified, and the company reported no accounting or auditing disputes with the firm.

Benitec Biopharma’s audit committee dismissed Baker Tilly on Sept. 18, 2026, and Baker Tilly was notified on Sept. 21. Ernst & Young will serve as auditor for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027.

2. Prior audit matters

Baker Tilly issued unqualified audit opinions for fiscal 2026 and 2025, with no going-concern or scope modifications. The only reportable issue cited was a 2025 material weakness in share-based compensation controls, which was remediated by June 30, 2026.
