Berkshire sells 182,980 DaVita shares, still has 45% stake in dialysis provider
DVA•DaVita repurchases shares from Berkshire
Berkshire Hathaway sold 182,980 of its DaVita shares back to the kidney dialysis services provider for about $36.5 million, reducing Berkshire's stake to 28.97 million shares, or about 45%, according to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings on Tuesday.
The repurchase took place on July 31. DaVita has an agreement with Berkshire to buy back enough shares on a quarterly basis to lower Berkshire's ownership stake to 45%. Berkshire has owned shares of Denver-based DaVita since the fourth quarter of 2011.
