1. AI funding demand grows
Tech companies will need to raise more capital to meet demand for AI infrastructure, financial leaders said at an investment gathering in Hong Kong. Blackstone President Jon Gray said demand for computing power was running well ahead of supply, citing data centers and energy needs.
2. Leaders warn of volatility
Goldman Sachs Chief Executive David Solomon said strong companies with “good stories” could still raise capital, but investors would face volatility and losses. JPMorgan Vice Chairman Daniel Pinto said the market may be pricing in revenue and earnings growth that is too steep, raising the possibility of a correction in the AI sector. Citadel Securities CEO Peng Zhao said the scale of investment and uncertainty about the technology’s revenue potential were adding to volatility.
3. Spending and fundraising figures
Combined tech spending is set to exceed $730 billion this year, up from about $700 billion. S&P expects six US hyperscalers to spend more than $7 trillion on data centers and other AI-related capital expenditure between 2025 and 2030. Asia-Pacific tech fundraising more than tripled to $125.8 billion in the first three quarters of 2026 from $36 billion a year earlier.
