Biman Bangladesh Airlines ordered 14 Boeing jets—eight 787-10 Dreamliners, two 787-9s and four 737-8s—to modernize its fleet for high-demand international routes. Boeing’s Q1 revenue rose 14% and its commercial backlog approached $700 billion, underpinning its delivery pipeline.

1. Biman Bangladesh Airlines Order Composition

Biman placed its largest-ever Boeing order for 14 aircraft, including eight 787-10 Dreamliners, two 787-9s and four 737-8s, marking its first purchase of the 787-10 variant and entry into the 737-8 MAX family.

2. Fleet Modernization and Route Network Expansion

The eight 787-10s will serve high-demand Middle East routes while the two 787-9s support long-haul flights to Europe and North America. The four 737-8s will replace older single-aisle jets on regional routes across South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, delivering 20–25% fuel savings.

3. Q1 Revenue Growth

Boeing reported Q1 revenue growth of 14% year-on-year, driven by increased commercial deliveries and defense sales, enhancing its top-line momentum.

4. Backlog Overview

Its total backlog, encompassing commercial and defense orders, reached nearly $700 billion, extending delivery commitments well into the late 2020s.
