BioMarin Pharmaceutical falls after lowering annual forecast
BMRN•BioMarin cut its 2026 adjusted earnings-per-share forecast to $2.80-$3.10 from $4.90-$5.10 and lowered its sales outlook to $3.80 billion-$3.90 billion. Shares fell 6.9% to $53.50 in extended trading.
1. Forecast cut
BioMarin said uncertainty over the timing of multiple orders from a single international customer prompted it to update its 2026 revenue forecast. The company expects 2026 pre-tax charges of about $320 million from the Alesta acquisition and $83 million from the BMN 450 licensing deal, reducing EPS by about $1.55 and 32 cents, respectively.
2. Quarterly results
Third-quarter revenue was $1.025 billion, compared with analysts’ estimate of $1.026 billion. Voxzogo sales were $245 million, below estimates of $257 million.
