The deal underpins support for the client’s defense modernization by integrating end-to-end mission solutions including satellites, ground infrastructure and flight operations.
1. International Defense Contract
BlackSky signed a seven-figure Assured contract with an unnamed international defense customer granting uncontested access to its Gen-2 and Gen-3 satellite imagery and AI-enabled analytics services focused on the client’s priority areas of interest.
2. Support for Defense Modernization
Under the agreement, BlackSky will deliver early intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services until the customer’s sovereign satellites become operational, while accelerating space capabilities through a package of Gen-3 satellites, ground infrastructure and flight operations support.
3. Integrated Technology Stack
The deal leverages BlackSky’s vertically integrated model—from satellite manufacturing to AI analytics—enabling improved image clarity and real-time detection, identification and classification of vehicles, aircraft and vessels to meet global demand for persistent space-based intelligence.
