Blackstone Backs $1.5B Anthropic AI Venture as OpenAI JV Valued at $10B
Blackstone is joining Anthropic, Hellman and Friedman and Goldman Sachs to capitalize a $1.5B enterprise AI firm integrating Claude AI into midsize companies and portfolio businesses. Separately, OpenAI’s newly formed Deployment Company secured a $10B valuation from investors including TPG, Brookfield, Advent, Bain, Dragoneer and SoftBank.
1. Anthropic and Blackstone Launch $1.5B Enterprise AI Company
Anthropic has partnered with Blackstone, Hellman and Friedman and Goldman Sachs to form a $1.5 billion enterprise AI firm focused on deploying its Claude AI system into the core operations of midsize companies. Additional backing comes from Apollo Global Management, General Atlantic, Leonard Green & Partners, GIC and Sequoia Capital, with the new company set to integrate AI tools across portfolio businesses owned by its investors.
2. OpenAI Secures $10B-Valued Deployment Company JV
OpenAI has raised over $4 billion from TPG, Brookfield Asset Management, Advent International and Bain Capital to launch The Deployment Company, which holds a $10 billion valuation excluding the fresh capital. Majority-owned and controlled by OpenAI, the venture will also onboard Dragoneer Investment Group, SoftBank Group and consulting partners to accelerate enterprise AI adoption via forward-deployed engineers.
