Block’s Square expanded its collaboration with Google to bring U.S. food and beverage sellers into Ask Maps, a conversational AI feature in Google Maps.
Square sellers with a Google Business Profile can appear in Ask Maps results, with menus, hours, and location details syncing automatically from Square Dashboard.
Ask Maps users can place orders with Square sellers, with checkout enabled via Order by Cash App and orders flowing into existing Square POS systems.
The companies also plan to extend the Universal Commerce Protocol, an open standard for agentic commerce, to food ordering.
