Bloomberg and two trading firms agree to pay Truth Social for faster access to Trump’s posts
DJT•Bloomberg, Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading signed up for Truth Social’s faster-access service, which costs $60,000 to $100,000 a month. Trump Media said there is “significant demand” for the API product.
1. Paid access service
Truth Social has signed up Bloomberg and trading firms Susquehanna International Group and Jump Trading for faster access to President Donald Trump’s posts, people with direct knowledge said. Trump Media and Technology Group launched the service in July and says it gives subscribers a 50-millisecond timing advantage.
2. Potential market impact
The service is designed to deliver posts faster than a person checking the app, which could give trading firms an edge when presidential posts move financial markets. Trump Media said in August that it had signed more than 10 customer agreements, primarily with Wall Street trading firms, paying $60,000 to $100,000 per month.
3. Legal and ethical criticism
The paid service has drawn criticism over whether it creates unequal access to government information. A lawsuit filed in August by Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Foundation seeks to block the White House from posting official announcements exclusively on Truth Social; the suit is ongoing. Trump Media disputed the report’s characterization and said the product is an industry-standard API.
