Blue Moon Apex Sample Shows 0.180% Ge, 1.96% Cu; Q3 2027 DSO Start Plan
BMM•Blue Moon’s maiden 100 kg Apex bulk sample returned assays of 0.180% germanium, 0.0273% gallium and 1.96% copper, confirming high-grade mineralization following its March acquisition. The company aims to complete mine permitting by Q2 2027 and initiate 150 tpd DSO production in Q3 2027, potentially supplying nearly all U.S. germanium demand.
1. Bulk Sample Results
Blue Moon extracted and processed a 100 kg bulk sample from the Apex site, yielding assays of 0.180% germanium, 0.0273% gallium and 1.96% copper, marking the first data set since closing the acquisition on March 16, 2026.
2. Metallurgical Program
With assay data in hand, the company will advance its metallurgical testing to develop optimal flowsheets and evaluate near-term commercialization options, including direct shipping ore (DSO).
3. Direct Shipping Ore Interest
High-grade germanium-gallium mineralization and constrained markets have drawn unsolicited inquiries from major producers and end-users, prompting Blue Moon to explore DSO sales from Apex.
4. Permitting and Production Timeline
Blue Moon is pursuing government approvals for mine operations with a Q2 2027 target, while contract mining discussions aim to enable DSO at 150 tpd by Q3 2027, potentially covering nearly 100% of U.S. germanium demand.
