Boeing May Deliveries Jump 33% to 60 Aircraft After Wiring Fix

1. May Delivery Performance
Boeing handed over 60 commercial aircraft in May, marking a 33% increase from May 2025 after resolving a wiring issue that had delayed some 737 Max handovers. These deliveries represent Boeing’s strongest monthly performance since the defect was discovered in March.
2. Delivery Breakdown
Of the 60 jets, 51 were 737 Max narrowbodies, the highest monthly total since output resumed post-strike in December 2024. The fleet also included six 787 Dreamliners, one 777 freighter and one 767 freighter.
3. Order Activity and Backlog
Boeing secured 27 gross orders in May, offset by 16 cancellations for a net gain of 11 aircraft. The company’s unfilled order book reached 6,178 jets as the month closed.
4. Production Capacity and Outlook
Boeing is boosting 737 Max production from 42 to 47 units per month and will open a fourth final assembly line on July 6 in Everett, Washington. CEO Kelly Ortberg remains confident in hitting the ramp-up target as Boeing works to stabilize operations following a first-quarter net loss of $7 million.
