Bank of America and Citigroup are set to present at the Barclays Global Financial Services Conference later on Monday, kicking off a busy week for big U.S. banks.
BofA CEO Brian Moynihan is expected to speak at 1 p.m. ET (1700 GMT), while Citi finance chief Gonzalo Luchetti is set to present at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Wall Street is closely watching for commentary on deal pipelines and updates on consumer health.
Third-quarter investment banking volumes have been soft so far, analysts say, sharpening focus on execution in September, typically a strong month for deal activity.
Most executives are set to speak before the U.S. central bank announces its policy decision on Wednesday, and their commentary could set the tone for investor expectations ahead of third-quarter results next month.
"More than just the financial impact of a 25bp rate hike or hold on bank EPS, Chair Warsh's framing of the decision and handling of the press conference is critical; there's nothing like an unhappy bond market to spoil the capital markets and loan growth party," UBS analyst Erika Najarian said last week.
