BorgWarner captured two conquest awards in Asia for a latest-generation wet dual clutch on a Chinese SUV platform and a torsional-assist variable cam timing system for a Japanese hybrid engine. The wet clutch combines high-performance friction materials, optimized groove design and an integrated wave spring for reduced drag torque and smoother shifts, while the TA VCT system streamlines internal oil passages for faster cam phasing and stronger lock-pin engagement.

BorgWarner secured a contract to supply a high-efficiency variable turbine geometry turbocharger and an advanced exhaust gas recirculation cooler for a Euro 7-compliant, six-cylinder heavy-duty diesel engine on long-haul trucks. The VTG unit features ball bearings for improved transient response and an optimized compressor design, while the EGR cooler’s floating core and internal plate architecture enhances thermal performance and durability.

These wins broaden BorgWarner’s propulsion and drivetrain footprint across Asia and Europe, reinforcing its technology leadership in both combustion and hybrid powertrains. With Asian production starting in the second half of 2026 and European output slated for end-2028, the company is positioned to capitalize on tightening emissions regulations and rising OEM demand for efficiency.
