Shares of medical device maker Boston Scientific BSX.N fell 4% to $47.94.
The company said it identified a cybersecurity incident on Tuesday that affected some information technology systems and caused global disruption to its operations.
BSX expects the incident to cause further disruptions and limit access to certain information systems and business applications that support its operations, including the ability to process and ship customer orders.
While the company is working diligently to restore affected functions and systems access, the timeline for a full restoration is not yet known, Boston Scientific said.
Evercore ISI analyst Vijay Kumar said Stryker's cybersecurity incident earlier this year took about three weeks to resolve and, assuming a similar recovery timeline, Boston Scientific could face a roughly 600 to 700 basis-point impact on third-quarter revenue.
The company said the investigation of the cybersecurity incident is ongoing, and the full scope, nature and impacts, including operational and financial impacts, of the incident are not yet known.
Including session's move, the stock fell about 49% year to date.
