1. Revised production forecasts
BrasilAgro on November 3 cut its 2026/27 grain and cotton production forecast 3% to 439,300 metric tons. First-crop corn output was revised down 14% to 73,100 metric tons, primarily reflecting reduced planted acreage, while soybean production is projected at 261,200 metric tons, up 1% from the initial estimate as stronger prices favor planting.
2. Sugarcane and planted area
The 2026 sugarcane production forecast fell 6% to 2,055,243 metric tons amid weather disruptions and slower mill processing. Total planted area for 2026/27 is projected at 164,664 hectares, down 1% from the previous crop year.
