Brazil Potash says Brazil Profert bill could cut Autazes project capex by up to US$190 million
GRO•Profert bill could reduce Autazes capex and funding needs
Brazil Potash flagged the Senate-passed Profert bill as a potential catalyst for funding the Autazes potash project, pending presidential signature.
Internal modeling showed Profert, combined with SUFRAMA incentives, could cut initial capex by up to USD 190 million on USD 2.5 billion.
That reduction would lower pre-construction funding needs by about 7%, with eligibility dependent on a competitive selection process.
Profert would also authorize BNDES to invest in construction of new domestic fertilizer capacity, potentially expanding financing options for Autazes.
Mandatory domestic-content rules for fertilizer sold in Brazil would start at 2% in 2027, rising to 10% by 2037.
