Brazil's economy grows 0.5% in second quarter

Brazil's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.5% in the second quarter from the previous three months, official data showed on Tuesday, while economists in a Reuters poll had expected a 0.4% expansion.
On an annual basis, Latin America's largest economy expanded 2.0% in the period, statistics agency IBGE said, above the 1.8% forecast in the Reuters poll.
