Brazil's XP sees a US banking operation as a natural evolution in the near future
XP•XP weighs U.S. banking move
SAO PAULO, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Brazilian brokerage and financial platform XP Inc views having a bank in the U.S. as a natural evolution of its business in the near future, its Chief Executive Officer Thiago Maffra said on Monday.
"We have been evaluating alternatives, including applying for a banking license or acquiring an existing institution," he said in an earnings call with journalists. XP still has not made a decision on the matter but it is close to reaching one, he added.
