US DOE sells $500M Venezuelan oil at 30% premium, eyes crude swap plan
The US DOE completed its first sale of Venezuelan crude for $500M at a 30% premium to pre-raid prices and signalled further sales. It is exploring a heavy Venezuelan oil-for-US medium-sour crude swap to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, potentially increasing Brent supply.
