BriaCell analysis links circulating immune biomarker to survival in metastatic breast cancer
BCTX•BriaCell Therapeutics presented an analysis of 111 previously treated metastatic breast cancer patients, linking changes in circulating immune cells’ PD-L1 expression at roughly three months to progression-free and overall survival. Pretreatment measurements showed no significant association, and the findings require validation.
1. Biomarker findings presented
BriaCell Therapeutics presented pooled findings at ESMO 2026 from 111 previously treated metastatic breast cancer patients receiving immunotherapies, including participants in the earlier Phase 1/2 Bria-IMT study. Changes in circulating immune cells’ PD-L1 expression at roughly three months were associated with progression-free and overall survival, while pretreatment measurements showed no significant association. The findings support further evaluation of CAML PD-L1 to identify patients likely to benefit from immunotherapy, but require validation.
