BrightHy to Build and Operate 2 MW Multi-Million-Dollar Hydrogen Plant for Çimsa Cementos
BrightHy Solutions will construct and operate a 2 MW green hydrogen production facility at Çimsa Cementos’s Buñol, Spain plant under multi-year service agreements, leveraging Sungrow Hydrogen equipment. This multi-million dollar project aims to reduce carbon emissions in cement production and positions BrightHy for follow-on decarbonization contracts.
1. Project Scope and Agreements
BrightHy Solutions, through its Spanish-registered branch, will provide installation, supply, engineering and long-term operation services for a 2 MW green hydrogen production facility at Çimsa Cementos’s Buñol plant. The project is structured under a series of construction and services agreements with Çimsa and a dedicated project company managed by BrightHy, using equipment sourced via an agency deal with Sungrow Hydrogen.
2. Environmental and Industrial Impact
The facility is designed to integrate hydrogen as a substitute fuel for high-temperature processes in cement manufacturing, a sector known for its carbon-intensive thermal operations. By deploying green hydrogen, the project targets significant reductions in CO₂ emissions where electrification alone cannot meet thermal requirements, demonstrating a scalable industrial decarbonization model.
3. Commercial and Strategic Outlook
Valued at multiple millions, the plant is expected to drive long-term value creation for BrightHy and its parent, Fusion Fuel, with additional projects already in proposal. The deal underscores BrightHy’s strategy to become an integrated hydrogen engineering, execution and asset management platform across Southern Europe’s hard-to-abate industries.
