1. Broker Predicts FTSE 100 Inclusion for Genus PLC
Panmure Liberum, the house broker for Genus PLC, has reiterated its confidence in the animal genetics group’s long-term growth prospects, forecasting that GNS could achieve FTSE 100 status by the end of the decade. In its June update, the broker highlighted that trading conditions across the group have remained stronger for longer than initially anticipated, driven largely by resilient demand in its flagship PIC pork division. Panmure Liberum noted that volumes in PIC pork have exceeded seasonal norms by approximately 5% year-to-date, while margins in the division have held steady at around 22%, benefiting from tight global supply and ongoing pricing power. The broker also cited strategic investments in genetic research and a diversified geographic footprint—spanning key markets in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific—as critical levers that underpin GNS’s pathway to join the FTSE 100 index within the next four to five years.
