- The deal expands Brookfield’s global credit platform to about $365 billion, spanning opportunistic credit, real asset credit, and asset-backed finance.
- Howard Marks becomes co-chair of Oaktree while remaining a Brookfield director and chair of Brookfield’s Investment Solutions Group.
- Bruce Karsh also becomes co-chair of Oaktree while continuing as chief investment officer and portfolio manager.
- The U.S. becomes Brookfield Asset Management’s largest market, with over 60% of employees and nearly half of revenue sourced there.
