Target to carry ButcherBox fresh grass-fed beef in 1,463 stores

TGTTGT

ButcherBox is launching five fresh grass-fed beef products in 1,463 Target stores across 326 cities, marking the company's first major retail partnership to expand its subscription business into brick-and-mortar. The initiative aligns with Target’s wellness strategy and could boost grocery sales by attracting health-focused consumers and increasing in-store foot traffic.

1. ButcherBox Launches in Target Stores Nationwide

ButcherBox has secured placement of five fresh, 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef products—including ground beef, ribeye, NY strip and top sirloin steaks—on shelves in 1,463 Target stores across 326 U.S. cities beginning January 2026. This marks the meat subscription leader’s first foray into brick-and-mortar retail, leveraging Target’s commitment to wellness and its existing digital partnership via Target Plus. The arrangement is expected to accelerate consumer trial, complement ButcherBox’s frozen direct-to-door subscription model (which generated in excess of $570 million in revenue in 2025, up over 10% year-over-year), and drive incremental volume through Target’s high-traffic grocery aisles. For Target, the exclusive offering supports its strategy to expand curated, health-focused food assortments and to capture greater share of the $200 billion U.S. meat category by attracting premium-seeking customers into its fresh meat case.
