U.S. stocks edge higher as tech leads
The S&P 500 hit an intraday record high on Thursday, boosted by technology stocks, as a drop in crude prices lifted risk appetite and investors parsed a softer-than-expected producer price inflation reading.
At 1130 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.22% at 53,653.62. The S&P 500 was up 0.47% at 7,784.61, and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.66% at 26,762.53.
