BWXT signs multiyear nuclear fuel supply agreement with Antares
BWXT•BWX Technologies' Advanced Fuels subsidiary signed a multiyear agreement with Antares Nuclear to produce TRISO fuel, with an initial allocation of 1 metric ton of uranium and scope to increase volumes.
1. Fuel supply agreement
BWX Technologies' Advanced Fuels subsidiary will produce TRISO nuclear fuel for Antares Nuclear at its Lynchburg, Virginia, facility. The agreement includes an initial allocation of 1 metric ton of uranium, with scope to increase volumes as deployment requirements evolve.
2. Production plans
Antares secured the production line through the end of the decade. Its electricity-producing Mark-1 reactor will use the fuel in 2027.
