CAE and TKMS Sign Teaming Agreement to Train Royal Canadian Navy Submariners

CAECAE

CAE signed a teaming agreement with TKMS to pursue the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project by combining submarine design expertise with CAE’s simulation-based training and mission-system support for the Royal Canadian Navy’s future fleet. The deal also opens CAE to export training opportunities and bolsters sustainment capabilities for Canada’s Arctic defense.

1. Teaming Agreement Scope

CAE and TKMS formalized a teaming pact to jointly bid on the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project, with TKMS handling design and construction and CAE providing simulation-based training and mission-system support for the Royal Canadian Navy’s future submarine fleet.

2. Training and Sustainment Responsibilities

Under the agreement, CAE will develop high-fidelity submarine simulators and sustainment frameworks that replicate real-world operations to train naval crews on weapon handling, navigation and emergency procedures, ensuring mission readiness from day one.

3. Export and International Opportunities

The partnership also designates CAE as TKMS’s strategic ally for wider naval program bids, opening pathways to deliver training and simulation solutions for international and export submarine and surface vessel projects.

4. Strategic Outlook

By aligning its simulation expertise with a leading submarine builder, CAE strengthens its defence order backlog, enhances long-term revenue visibility through sustainment contracts and reinforces Canadian industry’s role in Arctic and coastal security.
