Caledonia Mining flags Q3 gold output hit by compressed air shortage at Blanket Mine
CMCL•Blanket Mine’s Q3 2026 gold output fell to 17,030 ounces from 19,106 ounces a year earlier, as compressed-air shortages disrupted mining. Caledonia cut 2026 production guidance to 69,000-72,500 ounces and raised cost guidance to US$1,700-US$1,900 per ounce.
1. Output and guidance
Caledonia Mining said Blanket Mine produced 17,030 ounces of gold in Q3 2026, down from 19,106 ounces a year earlier. A shortage of compressed air disrupted mining in deeper, higher-grade areas amid delays deploying four new compressors. About 1,100 ounces of free gold remained in the plant during commissioning of new gravity-circuit equipment. Two compressors are operating and two more are en route; the company expects normalized production to return in Q4 2026. Blanket’s 2026 production guidance is now 69,000-72,500 ounces, with cost guidance of US$1,700-US$1,900 per ounce.
