Canada is considering a proposal to accept U.S. auto tariffs in return for a reduction on levies for vehicles compliant with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, the Globe and Mail reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The proposal would also maintain an exemption for the value of American content in cars exported from Canada, the report added.
