BYD Misses Out On 49,000-Vehicle Canadian Tariff Exemption Without Local Presence
Canada has eliminated 100% tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, allowing up to 49,000 imports annually at a 6.1% rate. BYD currently has no Canadian sales presence and cannot capitalize on the new import quota without establishing a local distribution network.
