Canada's main stock index opened at a fresh record high on Tuesday, led by gains in financial shares, after a report said the United States and Iran were nearing an arrangement to end their six-month conflict.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index .GSPTSE was up 0.3% at 36,568.72 points by 09:32 a.m. ET.
