Canada Stocks-TSX opens higher on miners boost

Sept. 17 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Thursday, boosted by mining stocks tracking higher prices of precious metals, while the US Federal Reserve's focus on fighting inflation lifted broader risk appetite.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index .GSPTSE was up 1.2% at 35,907.57 at 09:31 a.m. ET.
