Canada's Cenovus Energy posts higher third-quarter profit

Cenovus Energy reported net income of C$3.36 billion, or C$1.83 per share, for the three months ended September 30, up from C$1.29 billion, or 72 Canadian cents per share, a year earlier. The Calgary-based producer said higher oil and gas production helped lift profit.
