Canada's Methanex Q3 results top estimates on strong North American production
MEOH•Methanex reported Q3 adjusted EPS of $3.69, adjusted net income of $284 million and adjusted EBITDA of $543 million, beating analyst estimates. The company expects 2026 production of about 9.0 million tonnes of methanol and 0.3 million tonnes of ammonia.
1. Quarterly results
Methanex's Q3 adjusted EPS was $3.69, compared with an analyst estimate of $2.73. Adjusted net income was $284 million, above the $235.67 million estimate, while adjusted EBITDA of $543 million topped the $469.66 million estimate.
2. Production and outlook
CEO Rich Sumner said North American methanol production contributed to results. Production was also strong in Egypt, while output was lower in Chile due to seasonal gas constraints and in Trinidad after the Titan plant ceased operations. Methanex expects 2026 production of about 9.0 million tonnes of methanol and 0.3 million tonnes of ammonia, and anticipates higher Q4 adjusted EBITDA on a higher realized price and similar sales volume.
3. Pricing conditions
The company said conflicts in the Middle East led to significant industry supply losses, supporting methanol pricing strength. It expects an average realized price of $525 to $550 per tonne for October and November.
