Canadian dollar weakens, benchmark yield climbs
TLT•The Canadian dollar fell 0.2% to C$1.4163 per U.S. dollar on Monday, while Canada’s 10-year government bond yield rose 3.4 basis points to 3.959%.
1. Currency and bond moves
The loonie traded between C$1.4143 and C$1.4173 per U.S. dollar, equivalent to 70.61 U.S. cents. The yield on similar U.S. benchmark debt rose to 5.2087%, while U.S. November crude futures gained $1.84 to $94.25 a barrel.
