Canadian dollar weakens, benchmark yield slips
TLT•The Canadian dollar weakened 0.4% to C$1.4284 per U.S. dollar, while the Canadian 10-year government bond yield fell 3.9 basis points to 3.893%.
1. Currency and bond moves
The loonie traded at 70.01 U.S. cents, within a range of 1.4208 to 1.4298 per U.S. dollar. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 5.2547%. November U.S. crude futures fell 23 cents to $91.26 a barrel.
