TORONTO, Aug. 18 (Reuters) - Canadian housing starts unexpectedly fell in July compared with the previous month, data from the national housing agency showed on Tuesday.
The seasonally adjusted annualized rate of housing starts fell 5% to 229,074 units, from a revised 240,773 units in June, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) said. Economists had expected starts to rise to 247,500.
