Carrier launches AquaEdge 30CF chiller with 3 MW capacity and 3-min recovery
Carrier unveiled the AquaEdge 30CF air-cooled centrifugal chiller, delivering over 3 MW of cooling and full capacity restoration in under three minutes following power interruptions. The unit operates between –20°F and 140°F, expanding the QuantumLeap portfolio and supported by increased global chiller manufacturing capacity.
1. Product Introduction
Carrier introduced the AquaEdge 30CF air-cooled centrifugal chiller to help data center operators maintain continuous cooling performance and protect uptime under real-world operating conditions. The new model joins the QuantumLeap portfolio of integrated thermal management solutions designed for mission-critical facilities.
2. Performance Specifications
The AquaEdge 30CF supports operation across a –20°F to 140°F ambient range and delivers over 3 MW of cooling capacity. In the event of a power interruption, it can restore 100% of its cooling output in under three minutes, ensuring rapid recovery during grid or site disruptions.
3. Technology Platform
Built on a proprietary two-stage, back-to-back centrifugal compressor with magnetic bearing technology, the oil-free architecture enables high efficiency and reduced maintenance. This design leverages the proven platform from the AquaEdge 19MV water-cooled chiller to lower lifecycle risk and extend reliable operation.
4. Market Impact
The launch is backed by expanded global chiller manufacturing capacity to accelerate data center deployments and reduce supply chain risk. By integrating equipment, controls and services, Carrier aims to drive growth in differentiated products, integrated systems and aftermarket services across the data center market.
