CWST• McKean Landfill RNG facility starts operations
- Waga Energy brought an RNG production facility online at Casella’s McKean Landfill in Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania.
- The WAGABOX unit processes 2,000 SCFM of landfill gas and targets annual output of up to 407,000 MMBtu of pipeline-quality RNG.
- The gas injects into the National Fuel Gas network and is expected to avoid 31,000 tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions per year.
- Waga Energy funded construction and will own and operate the site for 20 years, with revenue from RNG sales shared with Casella.
- McKean is the third facility commissioned in 2026 under the partners’ 2023 agreement, following the Chemung County and Hyland projects.
