Caterpillar Pledges $5M for Texas Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Training
CAT•Caterpillar launched a Texas workforce commitment, allocating up to $5 million from its five-year, $100 million Building the Future Workforce Initiative to train workers for advanced manufacturing and technician roles. The program involves 6,630 employees across 17 facilities, including the 1.7 million sq ft Seguin engine plant.

Caterpillar has launched its workforce commitment in Texas as part of the five-year, $100 million Building the Future Workforce Initiative, with an initial allocation of up to $5 million to prepare workers for advanced manufacturing and industry technician jobs of tomorrow.
2. Texas Footprint
The program spans 6,630 Caterpillar employees across 17 Texas facilities, highlighted by the 1.7 million square foot engine plant in Seguin and the company’s Irving headquarters, leveraging the state’s manufacturing infrastructure.
3. Collaborative Partnerships
To advance training and career pathways, Caterpillar is collaborating with Texas State Technical College, the Manufacturing Institute and local stakeholders including Seguin Economic Development Corporation to reduce barriers and define in-demand skills.
