CATL, BYD shares fall after U.S. criticism of Ford's China ties
Hong Kong-listed shares of Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) 3750.HK slip 1.8% to HK$552.
Stock down after the United States blasted Ford Motor's F.N business partnerships with Chinese firms amid national security concerns.
CATL Shenzhen-listed stock 300750.SZ falls 2.5% to 327.1 yuan in a third consecutive session of losses.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy in a letter to Ford CEO Jim Farley said the automaker's dealings with Chinese battery maker CATL and Chinese automakers Geely 0175.HK and BYD 002594.SZ raised "profound concern", urging Ford to cut ties with major Chinese companies.
Geely shares slip 1.4% to HK$16.68.
BYD's Hong Kong stock 1211.HK falls 2.6% to HK$81.7, the lowest level since July 10, while Shenzhen shares down 1.2% at 85.5 yuan.
