CBAK Energy Unveils 26650HP and PFS2 V2.0 Cells Delivering 260W–310W for AI Backup
CBAT•CBAK Energy previewed 26650HP V2.0 and 26650PFS2 V2.0 LFP cells delivering 260W and 310W at 40C/38C discharge for rack-level AI data center backup. They boast sub-3 mΩ internal resistance, 100C pulse support, 600-cycle lifespan and −40°C to 70°C operation to stabilize voltage and thermal performance in BBU and UPS scenarios.
1. Company Previews Next-Generation High-Rate LFP Cells
CBAK Energy has unveiled its next-generation 26650HP V2.0 and 26650PFS2 V2.0 lithium iron phosphate cylindrical cells, targeting AI data center battery backup units (BBUs) and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. These designs address the rapid power fluctuations and high-density rack requirements of GPU-driven AI workloads.
2. Enhanced Electrical and Thermal Performance
The 26650HP V2.0 and 26650PFS2 V2.0 cells deliver continuous discharge rates of 40C and 38C with per-cell power outputs of 260W and 310W, respectively. With internal resistance below 3 mΩ, 100C pulse discharge capability, and an operating range from −40°C to 70°C, they aim to stabilize voltage and reduce thermal stress under transient loads.
3. Lifecycle and Deployment Advantages
Engineered for both rapid BBU responses and sustained UPS applications, these cells support over 600 cycles at 5C/10C charge/discharge, reducing replacement frequency. Their higher power density within the standard 26650 form factor enables more compact rack designs, fewer cells per system, and improved reliability during critical power transitions.
