Cboe reports August options ADV rises 3.3% to 14.8 million contracts

- Cboe reported August 2026 ADV of 14,801,000 multi-listed options contracts, up 3.3% year over year, down 5.7% month over month.
- Index options ADV reached 5,743,000 contracts, up 17.4% year over year, down 4.1% from July.
- Futures ADV fell to 163,000 contracts, down 25.3% year over year, down 21.3% month over month.
- U.S. equities on-exchange ADV totaled 1,481 million matched shares, down 10% year over year, down 5.6% from July.
- Mini-SPX (XSP) options posted a monthly ADV record of 241,000 contracts, beating the prior record set in July 2026.
