CBOT corn ends flat as crude oil rally pauses
CORN•Corn futures end unchanged
Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ended unchanged on Friday as a crude oil rally halted. Corn futures often follow oil because of the grain's role in biofuel production.
- Most-active December corn CZ26 finished flat at $4.87-1/2 a bushel.
- Brent crude oil futures LCOc1 settled 3.9% lower after sources said China had initiated a push to resume stalled peace talks between the United States and Iran.
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported net U.S. corn export sales last week totaling 332,679 metric tons for shipment in the 2025/26 season, below trade estimates for 400,000 to 800,000 tons. Net new-crop sales of 701,505 tons were at the high end of a range of analyst estimates of 400,000 to 800,000 tons.
