CBOT Trends-Wheat up 9-10 cents, corn up 2-3 cents, soy up 5-6 cents
DBA•Corn and soybeans also firm ahead of USDA reports
CBOT corn futures headed higher in early moves as tensions with Iran lifted crude oil CLc1 futures and market players adjusted positions ahead of the USDA's monthly crop reports on Wednesday.
The USDA confirmed private sales of 105,000 metric tons of U.S. old-crop corn to unknown destinations for delivery in the 2025/26 marketing year that began September 1, 2025.
Ahead of the USDA's monthly reports this week, analysts surveyed by Reuters on average expected the agency to lower its estimate of the U.S. 2026 corn yield to 182.4 bushels per acre, from 183.0 previously.
Farmers in Brazil's center-south harvested 79% of their 2026 second corn crop as of Thursday, agribusiness consultancy AgRural said, up from 69% the previous week but behind the 88% reported a year earlier.
CBOT December corn CZ26 was last up 3 cents at $4.65 per bushel.
