CBOT wheat falls on sell-off following Putin comments

- CBOT December soft red winter wheat WZ26 futures settled 19-3/4 cents lower to $7.54-1/4 per bushel.
- K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ26 settled 18-3/4 cents lower to $8.15-1/2 per bushel.
- Minneapolis December wheat MWEZ26 settled 16-1/2 cents lower to $7.65-1/2 per bushel.
Ukraine export data and Saudi tender in focus
Ukraine's combined grain and oilseed exports fell to 1.2 million metric tons in August from 2.5 million tons in July, Ukrainian traders union UGA said on Thursday.
Traders are watching to see how suppliers will approach a wheat import tender announced on Thursday by Saudi Arabia, for which Russia is a regular supplier.
Wheat futures retreat after Putin remarks spark profit-taking
Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures tumbled on Thursday, retreating from multi-year highs set this week and nearing the lower limit after Russian President Vladimir Putin said there was a chance of a peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
Traders said Putin's remarks triggered profit-taking after a steep rally in the past month linked to mounting concerns about the war disrupting crucial Black Sea grain exports from Russia and Ukraine.
