Brazil’s Mines and Energy Ministry decided to renew CEMIG’s Sá Carvalho hydro plant concession for 30 years from Aug. 31, 2026.
Renewal terms and next steps
The terms follow Brazil’s power-concession renewal framework under Federal Law 12,783.
CEMIG has 210 days to sign the new amendment once formally called to execute it.
