Centaurus Metals has appointed 25-year veteran Thiago Costa as project director for its 100%-owned Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project in northern Brazil, with basic engineering nearly complete and project financing rapidly progressing. Final investment decision is targeted for Q3 following his development of multi-million-tonne operations at Equinox Gold and Ero Copper.

Centaurus Metals has appointed Brazilian engineer Thiago Costa as project director for its wholly owned Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project in northern Brazil. Costa will oversee the transition from engineering to construction as the company finalizes project financing and prepares for a Q3 final investment decision.

2. Executive Background

Costa brings over 25 years of project implementation experience, including leading the 4Mtpa Tucumã copper mine development for Ero Copper, directing the Brazilian operations of Equinox Gold before its asset sale, and holding senior roles on OZ Minerals’s Pedra Branca underground mine and the 25Mtpa Minas-Rio iron ore project for Anglo American.

3. Jaguar Development Timeline

With basic engineering nearing completion and financing rapidly taking shape, Centaurus targets a final investment decision in Q3. Jaguar is positioned as one of the world’s key new nickel sulphide projects, leveraging Costa’s regional expertise to maintain schedule and budget discipline.
