Centene’s Health Net Waives Prior Authorizations, Extends Grace Periods After LA Warehouse Fire
CNC•Health Net is suspending prescription refill limits and authorizing out-of-network pharmacy fills for fire-affected Los Angeles County members. It is also extending notification grace periods for acute and post-acute services and waiving prior authorizations for medical equipment and home health care providers.
1. Emergency Prescription and Medication Access
During the declared State of Emergency, Health Net will suspend refill limitations to allow fire-affected members in Los Angeles County to obtain emergency supplies. Members can fill prescriptions at out-of-network pharmacies if their usual pharmacy is closed, with no refill restrictions.
2. Provider Notification and Authorization Relief
Health Net is extending grace periods for notifications on acute services, post-acute care, durable medical equipment, medical supplies and home health care services. Prior authorization requirements are waived for impacted providers, though notification deadlines remain relaxed to ensure continuity of care.
3. Telehealth and Social Services Support
Members unable to reach primary care providers can access no-cost telehealth appointments through Health Net after registration. Additional support includes 24/7 behavioral health crisis lines and referrals to emergency shelter, food, transportation and legal guidance via community resources.
