CenterPoint Energy projects $5 billion Texas customer savings from large-load growth initiative
CNP•Plan aligns with Texas data center standards
CenterPoint said the plan aligns with Gov. Greg Abbott’s push for clearer standards for data centers and cites compliance with 2025 Senate Bill 6 protections.
The company also pointed to stable infrastructure charges from 2014 to 2025, which it said rose just over 1% per year, positioning rates as the lowest among Texas investor-owned transmission and distribution utilities.
CenterPoint launches Customer Savings Initiative
CenterPoint Energy projects more than $5 billion in Texas electric customer savings over the next decade through a new Customer Savings Initiative.
The company said the savings are tied to up to 14 gigawatts of ERCOT-eligible base-load or studied-load projects, with more of the fixed grid costs shifted to new large-load customers.
